Our most recent venture is in the logistics industry offering a platform that provides digital-first flexible storage services for businesses in Saudi Arabia.

We are seeking a Tech Lead to join our on-demand storage venture and lead our tech team. As a As Lead Software Engineer & Architect you will:

• Take the lead in project-specific architecture sprints and thereby self-responsibly lay the architectural foundation of all future projects we build for our clients in various industries (e.g. FinTech, HealthTech, PropTech, E-Commerce and others). You will frequently work with third-party services in these industries, and you will get to work on a variety of projects with individual challenges and varying degrees of technical complexity
• Work closely with our CTO, Frontend & Backend Engineers, DevOps Engineers and Product Managers to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code across all of our projects
• Your primary focus will be the development of server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the databases, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend. You will also be responsible for integrating the frontend elements built by your teammates into the application. Therefore, at least a basic understanding of frontend technologies is necessary as well.
• Actively help to improve code quality, application speed and scalability architecture and automatization across all projects
• Design packages and components to be reused across projects
• Help us further improve our Software Engineering practices and tooling, and automate reasonably many things to make us more efficient
• Refine technical standards and propagate them into the software engineering teams
• Coach our Software Engineering teams.
• Please note that while this role involves a good portion of hands-on software development initially, the possibility of transitioning into a more leadership-oriented role exists.

Qualifications

• Collaborative, self-motivated, curious, and humble attitudes

• 7+ years experience with building sophisticated software solutions across different tech stacks
• Experience with i) modern JavaScript/TypeScript, ii) Java (or C/C++/C#), and iii) either PHP, Python or Ruby
• Strong experience in the use and design of REST APIs. Additional experience with GraphQL is a plus
• Experience with the use of command lines of Unix-based OSes
• Experience in debugging distributed applications in remote environments
• Experience in agile development methodologies, e.g. SCRUM and TDD
• Experience with web frameworks e.g. Laravel or RubyOnRails
• Experience with asynchronous processing and message brokers (e.g. RabbitMQ, Kafka, Reds)
• Familiarity with concepts of OOP, MVC, Mocking, ORM, CI, DI, microservices, SOLID, CQRS and RESTful
• Strong test-driven mindset to ensure high software quality. Able to implement different types of automation tests
• Experience with git version control and proficient understanding of tools like GitHub, JIRA or Postman
• Experience with Docker and Docker-based development
• Awareness of security concerns from a software development perspective
• Familiarity with SQL. Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
